Baku will not nominate its candidacy for hosting the Summer Olympic Games in the upcoming years, said the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, ONA reports citing RIA Novosti.
He stated that Azerbaijan who was a candidate to host Summer Olympic Games in 2016 – 2020 doesn’t plan to be nominated the second time.
“We had tried to be the host of the Games two times between 2016 – 2020. However we hadn’t been included on the shortlist of candidates. Our main problems are sports halls and facilities. We do not have any plan to nominate Azerbaijan in near future”, the Minister stated.
