An image of a letter allegedly issued by the Ministry of Health, claiming that restrictions had been imposed on wearing the hijab in medical institutions, is circulating on social media and messaging platforms.
According to Yeniavaz.com, the Media and Broadcasting Council and the Ministry of Health issued a joint statement confirming that the letter is fake.
The statement said that the Ministry of Health had not issued such a document and had not sent any instructions of this kind to medical institutions.
It emphasized that presenting a fake document as genuine official correspondence constitutes disinformation that misleads the public.
The Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan urged media outlets and social media users to verify information through official sources, refrain from sharing the fake document as authentic, and avoid contributing to the spread of disinformation.
