“Yeni Avaz” Wrote, Ministry of Education Corrected Its Mistake – Details

Two days ago, an article titled “Emin Amrullayev Made a Mistake While Presenting the Results of “PISA 2025” – Expert” was published on the Yeniavaz.com website, and the article included statements by investigative journalist Allahverdi Aydin.
Allahverdi Aydin said that Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev made a mistake regarding one figure while presenting the results of “PISA 2025”.
He said that on the slide presented by the minister, Qatar’s result in mathematical literacy was mistakenly shown as 424 points, and as a result, Azerbaijan’s position was moved down in the list of 91 participants.
It should be noted that one day before Allahverdi Aydin’s statements were published on Yeniavaz.com, an inquiry regarding the issue had been sent to Sabukhi Rzazade, head of the Public Relations and Communications Department of the Ministry of Science and Education. However, the head of the department did not respond to the inquiry, violating the requirements of Article 17.3 of the Law “On Media”.
Yeniavaz.com reports that yesterday, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev made a post stating that he had been a guest on the international television channel “AnewZ”. The footage shared by the minister clearly shows that the mistake in the previously published information has been corrected.
It should be recalled that while the slide presented by the minister at the press conference showed Azerbaijan’s position as 49th, the slide presented by the minister on the “AnewZ” channel showed Azerbaijan’s position as 48th. As a result of this mistake made during the press conference, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev showed Azerbaijan’s position in mathematical literacy as 49th, and national media also published incorrect information.
