65% of residential buildings in Azerbaijan were built between 1946 and 1990

According to information from earlier this year, only 1.3% of existing residential buildings (apartments) in Azerbaijan were built after 2020.

, citing official data, reports that more than half of residential buildings – 65.1% – were built during the former Soviet Union, from 1946 to 1990.
After Azerbaijan gained independence, the largest number of houses were built between 1991 and 2000. 15.7% of existing houses in the country were built during these years. Furthermore, 8.4% of houses were built between 2001 and 2010, and 7.8% between 2011 and 2020.
It should also be noted that 0.5% of houses are considered historical buildings, built before 1919. Houses built before 1919 existed in Baku, Daghlig-Shirvan, Ganja-Dashkan, Gazakh-Tovuz, and Sheki-Zagatala regions.
