In 2025, the world's nine nuclear powers spent a total of $119 billion on their arsenals.
According to Yeniavaz.com, this information is contained in a new report published by the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).
This is reportedly an increase of approximately 19 percent over the previous year and is considered the highest figure in recent years.
The organization, a coalition of non-governmental organizations, has been tracking annual nuclear weapons spending since 2020. According to the report, the increase recorded in 2025 was the highest in the entire monitoring period.
The study examined nine nuclear powers: the United States, Russia, China, France, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, North Korea, and Israel.
According to the report, the United States spent the most in 2025. Washington has allocated $69.2 billion to its nuclear arsenal, exceeding the combined spending of all other nuclear powers. The US nuclear weapons budget increased by 22 percent in a year, reaching a record high.
China ranks second on the list. Beijing will spend $13.5 billion on its nuclear arsenal in 2025, a 7 percent increase from the previous year.
One of the most notable points is that the UK has overtaken Russia in nuclear weapons spending. The UK's nuclear arsenal budget increased by 17 percent to $12.6 billion. In Russia, this figure increased by 6 percent to $9.5 billion.

US - $69.2 billion (+22%);
China - $13.5 billion (+7%);
The United Kingdom - $12.6 billion (+17%);
Russia - $9.5 billion (+6%);
France - $7.7 billion (+8%);
India - $2.8 billion (+12%);
Pakistan - $1.5 billion (+18%);
Israel - $1.2 billion (+2%);
North Korea - $656 million (+4%).
