
The next edition of the Global Terrorism Index (GTI), prepared by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), headquartered in Sydney, Australia, and published annually for the past 13 years, has been published.
According to Yeniavaz.com, Azerbaijan ranked 93rd out of 163 countries and was classified as having a very low terrorism threat.
For your information, countries are divided into six groups based on their terrorist threat risk: very high, high, medium, low, very low, and none.
Countries with a very high terrorism risk include Pakistan and Burkina Faso. Another 13 countries, including Israel, are in the high terrorism risk group. Additionally, 15 countries were rated as having a medium terrorism risk, including neighboring Russia and Iran. Countries such as the United States and Germany are rated as having a medium terrorism risk. Another 15 countries, including Turkey, France, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Greece, have a low terrorism risk.
The ranking indicates that the terrorism risk in 54 countries, including Azerbaijan, is very low. 64 countries faced no terrorism risk at all over the past year.

It should also be noted that Azerbaijan's position in the Global Terrorism Index has improved by 3 places over the past year. Last year, Azerbaijan ranked 90th out of 162 countries. Among the countries in the region, Tajikistan and Georgia declined in the past year. Tajikistan's position dropped by 29 places over the past year, while Georgia's dropped by 37 places.
