99.5% of imported buckwheat comes from Russia - From 70 kopecks per kilogram


Last year, Azerbaijan imported 13,567 tons of buckwheat from abroad.
As Yenivaz.com reports with reference to official data, 99.5% of imported buckwheat, or 13,500 tons, was imported from Russia. In addition, 67 tons of buckwheat were imported from Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that the average customs value of 1 kilogram of buckwheat imported from Russia was 41 cents (70 kopecks). The average customs value of 1 kilogram of buckwheat imported from Kazakhstan was 33 cents (56 kopecks).
For information, in January of this year, the average selling price of imported buckwheat groats in retail stores of the country was 2.76 manats.
It should also be noted that although buckwheat imported into the country mainly comes from one country, there are significant differences in the prices of buckwheat groats, packaged under different names, in the markets. For example, in "Neptun" supermarket, a 700-gram package of buckwheat under the name "Chedraya Zemlya" is sold for 1.5 manats, and a 600-gram package of buckwheat under the name "Yarmarka" is sold for 2.95 manats.
