The number of hybrid vehicles imported has declined, their value has increased - Latest data

In January of this year, Azerbaijan imported 7,591 various vehicles worth $176.5 million.
According to Yeniavaz.com, citing official data, the average customs value of each imported vehicle was $23,257 (39,536 manat).
It should be noted that 4,584 vehicles, or 60.4%, were hybrids. The average customs value of each hybrid vehicle imported in January was $20,100 (34.17 manat).
By comparison, hybrid vehicle imports decreased 3.3 times compared to the previous month, December of last year. In December, 15,207 hybrid vehicles were imported into the country. The average customs value of each hybrid vehicle imported in December was $19,591 (33,304 manat). As a result, the average customs value of imported hybrid vehicles increased by $420, or 2.1%.
As a reminder, effective January 1, 2022, the import and sale of hybrid vehicles manufactured less than three years ago and with an engine capacity of no more than 2,500 cubic centimeters were also exempt from 18% VAT for three years. However, effective January 1, 2026, the VAT and customs duty exemptions applicable to hybrid vehicles imported from abroad expired.
