In the first 10 months of this year, 90 kilograms of saffron were exported from Azerbaijan to Saudi Arabia, worth a total of $54,420.
According to Yeniavaz.com calculations, citing published official data, the average customs value of 1 kilogram of saffron exported to Saudi Arabia was $605 (1,028 manat).
It should be noted that during the same period, 40 kilograms of saffron were imported from Iran and Turkey, worth a total of $17,000. The average customs value of 1 kilogram of saffron imported from Iran was $188 (320 manat), while the average customs value of 1 kilogram of saffron imported from Turkey was $20.50 (35 manat).
It's also worth noting that in the first 10 months of this year, Azerbaijan exported $14,300 worth of saffron to an unspecified country.
By comparison, Azerbaijan exported more saffron abroad during the same period last year. In the first 10 months of last year, Azerbaijan exported $76,000 worth of saffron.
