When paying with this bank card, the metro fare will be 48 kopecks

Some time ago, the Baku Metro announced that all local NFC-enabled (contactless payment) bank cards can be used for metro payments.

Yeniavaz.com contacted several banks for information on this matter.
The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBB) announced that Tam DigiCard users can receive 100% cashback (0.60 manat) on every fifth ride as part of the "Metro Cashback" promotion when paying for metro fares with Google Pay or Apple Pay. IBB stated that the promotion covers a maximum of 30 rides (6x cashback) per customer and is valid only from November 13 to December 10, 2025. Xalq Bank announced it does not offer cashback for metro fares.
Unibank, the owner of the Leobank card, stated that customers who add their card to Google Pay or Apple Pay and pay for metro fares can receive 30% cashback on the first payment and 20% cashback on subsequent payments. According to the bank, this effectively reduces the cost of a metro ride from 60 kopecks to 48.
Kapital Bank cardholders are also not offered cashback for metro fares.
