The marriage age is rapidly increasing in Azerbaijan - Why are people marrying late?

In recent years, the marriage age in Azerbaijan has risen significantly.
Citing the latest official statistics, Yeniavaz.com reports that the average age of marriage for men is 30.2 years, and for women, 25.1 years.
For comparison, in 1991, this figure was 26.8 years for men and 23.3 years for women.
The published official data shows that people are marrying later than in previous periods.
What are the social and psychological reasons for this change?
Commenting on this development, sociologist Mayil Yagub noted in an interview with Yeniavaz.com that the rising marriage age is a global trend:
"This process is observed throughout the world. With the development of modern life, people do not want to marry. Because they are accustomed to an easy and carefree life. Such a lifestyle is incompatible with family responsibilities. Family is a serious responsibility for both women and men. That's why many avoid this responsibility."

The sociologist notes that cases of evading official marriage are also becoming more common:
"The number of common-law marriages is increasing. People live together, become parents, but are afraid to enter into an official marriage because of legal, moral, and psychological obligations."
Mayil Yagub also explained solutions:
"The state and society must work together to prevent this trend. To avoid the influence of Western culture, we must promote the value of the institution of family, encourage young people to start families, and conduct educational training in family psychology."
Psychologist Sevinj Habibova argues that there are both material and emotional reasons for the increase in the marriage age:
"Men want to have opportunities like a house, a job, and a car before getting married. They believe that a career will take shape after 30-35 years. However, with age, both women and men become more selective and capricious."

According to the psychologist, the influence of social media also significantly influences marriage decisions:
"People are almost completely unafraid of losing anyone. Previously, they would wait months to start a relationship, but now many prefer freedom. It's widely believed that 'solitude is a luxury.'"
She also touched on other reasons for late marriages:
"For men, age 30 and older, and for women, around age 27, is considered a period of psychological crisis. People become more cautious when they see people who quickly marry and quickly divorce. Women, on the contrary, often want to get on their feet and prefer to build a career."
