Does AZZA permit gender discrimination? – Photo

A job posting by AZZA, one of the largest confectionery chains in Azerbaijan, has sparked heated discussions on social media.
As reported by Yeniavaz.com, the company has published a salary range for candidates applying for the position of pastry chef.
According to the posting, the salary range for men is 570–800 manat, while for women it is 520–750 manat.

The gender-based salary gap in the job posting was controversial. Social media users interpreted it as gender discrimination.
It should be noted that gender discrimination refers to the differential treatment of individuals based on their gender (female or male). According to Article 16.1 of the Labor Code, any discrimination against employees based on gender in employment relationships, the direct or indirect establishment of benefits and advantages based on these factors, and the restriction of their rights are strictly prohibited. The State Labor Inspection Service (SLI) press service told Yeniavaz.com that the website should contact the State Employment Service regarding this matter:
"Because the SLI oversees processes after the employment contract is concluded. In this case, it's the job posting."
The SES told Yeniavaz.com that the matter concerns the activities of the State Labor Inspection Service.
