Butter, sold in Azerbaijan for 19 manats, is exported to Russia for 9.6 manats - Officially


In the first two months of this year, 700 tons of butter were exported from Azerbaijan to Russia.

reports that the average customs value of 1 kilogram of exported butter was $5.7 (9.6 manat).
It should be noted that in March of this year in the country's retail chains, the average price of 1 kilogram of locally produced butter was 19.1 manat, and compared to January of the year it was 1% more expensive.
As can be seen from the published data, domestically produced butter is sold on the domestic market at twice the export price.
For information, Azerbaijan cannot satisfy the demand for butter through domestic production. According to the latest published official information, the annual demand for butter in Azerbaijan amounted to 41.8 thousand tons, of which 41% or 17.3 thousand tons were imported from abroad. In the first two months of this year alone, Azerbaijan imported 2.9 thousand tons of butter from 13 countries. More than half of imported butter came from 2 countries - Iran and New Zealand.
In the first two months of this year, 1,356 tons of butter were imported from Iran with an average customs value of 4.2 dollars (7.2 manats) per kilogram, and from New Zealand - 1,040 tons of butter with an average customs value of 6 dollars (10 manats) per kilogram.
It should also be noted that in March of this year, the average price of 1 kilogram of imported butter in the country's retail chains was 19.6 manats.
