The main shareholders of Muğan Bank OJSC, whose authorized capital is 137.5 million manats, are brothers Munir and Samir Valiyev.
Elmir Mehdiyev, who was previously the main shareholder of Muğan Bank OJSC, recently transferred half (37%) of his 74% stake in the bank to Munir Valiyev, and the other half to Samir Valiyev.
In addition, another shareholder of the bank, Farida Mehdiyeva, sold half of her 6% shares (3%) to Munir Valiyev, and the other half to Samir Valiyev (3%).
Mehdiyev Elmir Magbet ogly, who sold his 74% stake in the bank, is the son-in-law of former member of parliament, rector of Odlar Yurdu University Akhmet Veliyev.
Velieva Vyafa, who controls 10.65% of the shares, is the daughter of Akhmet Valiev. The remaining two shareholders were the parents of Akhmet Veliyev’s child.
It should also be noted that Magbet Mehdiyev, associate professor at the Medical University, candidate of biological sciences, died last November.
The new shareholders of the bank, Munir and Samir Veliyev, are the sons of Akhmed Veliyev.
Currently, Akhmed Valiyev is the rector of Odlar Yurdu University, his eldest son Samir Veliyev is the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Odlar Yurdu University, and his youngest son Munir Veliyev is the 1st vice-rector of Odlar Yurdu University. All three are professors.
It should be noted that for the first 3 quarters of this year, the net loss of Muğan Bank OJSC amounted to 1 million 289 thousand manats. Yesterday, all ATMs of Muğan Bank OJSC stopped working throughout the country. However, the information provided by the bank stated that this was due to a system update.
