There are 129 villages in Azerbaijan with a population of less than 50 people.
Yeniavaz.com reports with reference to published official data that more than 5,000 people live in 97 out of 4,246 villages in Azerbaijan. 6 of these villages are located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
In addition, there are 79 cities in Azerbaijan, with less than 3,000 people living in 1 of them. There is only 1 city (Baku) with a population of over 500,000 people. The population of 4 cities ranges from 100,000 to 500,000 thousand people. 67% or 53 cities have populations between 10,000 and 50,000.
Among the 262 existing settlements in the country, the population of only 5 ranges from 50,000 to 100,000 people. The population of 167 settlements is less than 3000 people.
Among the 63 districts on the territory of Azerbaijan, there are 29 districts with a population of more than 100,000 people.
