The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Aykhan Hajizade, responded to the accusations made on March 31 by the press secretary of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasir Kenani.
Yeniavaz.com reports that Aykhan Hajizade recommended Nasir Kenani, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to listen carefully to the words of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in connection with the statements he made on March 31 with reference to a briefing by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov during his visit to State of Israel.
"As is known, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov did not express any position against Iran during a press briefing with the Israeli Foreign Minister. In this regard, we consider this statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran as another anti-Azerbaijani step.
We inform you that Azerbaijan has never allowed its territory to be used against third countries.
On the contrary, threats against Azerbaijan have been heard from Iran lately, provocations are allowed. Examples include Iran conducting military exercises along the borders of Azerbaijan, carrying out military flights over the border, anti-Azerbaijani statements by Iranian officials, the involvement of children by Iranian security structures such as SEPAH, filming and showing a video with threats against Azerbaijan at the Khudaferin bridge, a terrorist attack on Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran, preliminary versions in the investigation of the terrorist act against the member of the Milli Majlis Fazil Mustafa.
Today, the Iranian-Armenian brotherhood remains a threat to the region as a whole. Over the past 30 years, Iran has practically turned a blind eye to the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia. It is well known that Iran did not attach any importance to the occupation of Karabakh and East Zangezur and the plunder of these territories, the sale of stones from destroyed houses in these areas in Iranian markets, the destruction and desecration of 65 out of 67 existing mosques.
In connection with the above, we strongly condemn the statement made by Spokesman Nasir Kenani. This statement is another step that brings the Azerbaijani-Iranian relations into a crisis state.
These threats from Iran can never intimidate Azerbaijan. Despite the military support of Armenia from the territory of Iran, the Azerbaijani army defeated the Armenian army in 2020. And from now on, any aggression and provocations against Azerbaijan will be resolutely suppressed", - the information says.
