Why Baku accounts for more than half of the spent money - Statement + Updated

The observed situation in the capital Baku suggests that the population density in the city is now quite high compared to 15-20 years ago.
Yeniavaz.com reports that the State Statistical Committee stated that, despite the observed situation, there was no sharp increase in the population in Baku.
The Statistical Committee stated that the population of Baku in 2009 was 2 million 45.8 thousand people, and in 2022 it will be 2 million 303.1 thousand people. This means that over the past 13 years, the population of Baku has increased by 257.3 thousand people or 12.5%. This also means that over the past 13 years, the number of people living in the regions has increased more than the population of Baku. Thus, compared to 2009, the total population of Azerbaijan in 2022 increased by 1 million 234 thousand people or 13.8% and amounted to 10 million 156.4 thousand people.
Another interesting and at the same time controversial indicator, voiced by the Statistical Committee, is related to household spending.
According to the committee, in January-February this year, the population of Azerbaijan spent 8.2 billion manats in the retail network, and more than half of this money - 59% (4.8 billion manats) was spent in the capital Baku.
If, according to official statistics, 23% of the country's population lives in Baku, then the funds spent by the capital's population should be at these levels. But as you can see, the difference is more than 2 times.
If more than half (59%) of the money spent in the retail chain is in Baku, this also indicates that almost half of the country's population lives in Baku.

"This is due to the special importance of the city of Baku in retail turnover, the location of large retail chains ("Bina", "Sadarak", etc.) in the capital, shopping in Baku not only by residents of the city, but also by other cities and regions, especially nearby , as well as the resettlement of part of the internally displaced persons in the city of Baku (they are included in the permanent population of their regions) and so on."
This is stated in the information provided to Yeniavaz.com by the State Statistics Committee.
