The report of the Customs Committee, published for January-February of this year, notes that customs officers found 10.9 kilograms (10,869,539 grams) of narcotic drugs.
Yeniavaz.com reports that compared to the same period last year, the number of narcotic substances found at customs has sharply decreased.
So, in the first 2 months of last year, customs officers found 110.5 kilograms of narcotic drugs, which is 10 times more than in the first 2 months of this year.
The number of drugs seized at customs fell sharply in 2022 compared to 2021. If in 2021 2 tons 849.2 kilograms of narcotic substances were detected, then in 2022 it is 5 times less - 553.6 kilograms of narcotic substances.
It should also be noted that recently the Ministry of Internal Affairs officials have reported an increase in crimes related to the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in the country. 10,665 or 29.2% of the 36,494 criminal cases registered in the country in 2022 were related to illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. This is 24.4% more than in 2021.
In 2022, 8,587 persons were identified who committed crimes related to the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Last year their number was 6490 people.
