A meeting has been held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Special Representative of the European Union (EU) for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar today, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan told.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has provided the opposite side with comprehensive information on the issues such as current situation in the region, issues regarding implementation of trilateral statements dated November 10, 2020 and January 11, 2021, as well as attempts by Armenia to send militaries to the Azerbaijani territories, refusal from giving mine maps, which cause direct danger for lives of people on daily basis, to Azerbaijan at the meeting.
The minister also spoke about construction and restoration works in the region and the possible role of the EU in this regard.
Special representative Toivo Klaar noted the importance of working jointly in order to achieve peace. He stressed that EU is ready to support the process of achieving peace, security and progress in the region.
The sides, at the same time, exchanged views on prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU. (apa)
