“Azerbaijan became a member of COVAX platform organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and vaccines from COVAX will be brought to Azerbaijan,” Representative of the World Health Organization in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci told APA.
According to her, bringing various vaccines is also a subject of discussion: “Some quantity of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine will also be brought. Currently, the Sinovac vaccine is being applied in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan like other countries wants to bring as many vaccines as possible to the country in a short time. Works are underway in this regard.”
H.Harmanci noted that no serious side effects regarding the vaccine have been revealed during investigations conducted in the countries so far: “But, it still need to watch and pay attention. Because the clinical tests are performed on fewer people. The thirds phase tests are checked on tens of thousands of people. Because there may be more different results during tests performed on tens of thousands of people, it needs to watch more carefully. No dangerous, serious, severe side effects have been registered so far”.
