The trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia has ended in Moscow, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
Sergey Lavrov, Jeyhun Bayramov and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan took part in the meeting held at the Reception House of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting lasted more than 10 hours. A joint statement on the outcome of the meeting was issued by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Lavrov said that in response to the call of Russian President Vladimir Putin and in accordance with the agreements reached by Putin with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, today Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed on the following:
A ceasefire is declared beginning on October 10, 2020, at 12.00 for humanitarian purposes, in order to exchange prisoners of war, other detainees and the corpses with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and in line with its criteria.
Specific parameters of the ceasefire will be additionally agreed.
Lavrov also said that the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, launch substantive negotiations for the soonest peaceful settlement of the conflict on the basis of the basic principles of the settlement.
According to paragraph 4 of the adopted document, the parties confirm the immutability of the negotiation format.
